Dr. Khan is a highly skilled neurosurgeon dedicated to providing advanced care for complex brain and spine diseases. With a unique combination of expertise in traditional and minimally invasive techniques, he is committed to improving patient outcomes and quality of life through innovative surgical approaches. Dr Khan is recognized for his work in establishing centers of excellence for anterior and lateral skull base disease

Dr Khan completed his residency at the University of California- San Diego. He received additional fellowship training in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery at the University of Arizona under the direction of Peter Nakaji, MD. He completed a second fellowship in minimally invasive (keyhole), pituitary, and neuro-endoscopic neurosurgery at the Pacific Neuroscience Institute under Daniel Kelly, MD. Dr Khan joined Intent Medical Group at the Endeavor Health Advanced Neurosciences Center as the Director of Skull Base Surgery in 2024.

Dr. Khan earned his MD and PhD in a collaborative program between the State University of New York and Columbia University. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and holds patents in artificial intelligence and neuro-imaging applications. As a clinical scientist he has published landmark contributions on ways to establish skull base centers of excellence: institutions that provide comprehensive patient-centered care using cutting edge technologies, multi-disciplinary teams, and surgical approaches to achieve safe outcomes with good quality of life.

Dr. Khan’s approach to patient care is rooted in empathy. He believes in personalized treatment plans that address each patient’s and family’s unique needs, ensuring the highest standards of care. His goal is to provide patients with the best possible outcomes, utilizing the latest advancements in neurosurgical techniques.

Dr Khan is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), and the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS), and has served on their guidelines committees. He is committed to continuing medical education, and regularly presents at conferences to contribute to skull base education
