About Dr. Jamali

Dr. Sheheryar A. Jamali is a neurologist who is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in the subspecialty of Vascular Neurology. He is an expert in providing care to patients with a wide range of neurovascular conditions including transient ischemic attack, ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, arterial dissection, carotid artery stenosis, intracranial atherosclerotic disease, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, brain vascular malformations (e.g. aneurysm, cavernous malformation, arteriovenous malformation), primary CNS vasculitis, vascular dementia and cerebral amyloid angiopathy.

Dr. Jamali graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering

from The Ohio State University. His engineering background equips him with the ability to innovate while applying systems-based thinking to solve complex problems. He then graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he was awarded acceptance into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, recognizing exceptional humanistic behavior and commitment to service. Dr. Jamali completed his neurology residency training at the Mayo Clinic where he achieved Silver certification as a Mayo Quality Fellow, recognizing his accomplishments towards improving quality of patient care as the Chief Resident of Quality and Wellness. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Vascular Neurology at The University of Chicago Medical Center, positioning him to provide the best care for patients with stroke and neurovascular conditions.

Dr. Jamali provides patient-centric, quality-driven, and evidence-based care. He works closely with neurosurgery and interventional neurology colleagues leveraging a team-based model of care delivery to achieve the best patient outcomes. His approach harnesses compassionate care with patient education to ensure his patients feel heard by their doctor, are involved in decision-making, and leave well-informed about their diagnosis and treatment plan.
